Patience is a Virtue

I enjoyed sharing my top 25 Christmas songs with you all...now it's too bad the festivities are over and I've got to return to serious topics!  I pray everyone had a lovely holiday season surrounded by family and friends. I'd like to share my thoughts about something I think about every so often.

I'm sure you've all heard this phrase before...patience is a virtue.  Boy, is that an understatement!  I wonder, which do you find more difficult: patience with your peers, or patience with God?  I don't mean it to be a trick question either!  For me, patience with God is much more difficult-probably because my patience is with the unknown.  In all honesty, it's really patience linked with trust (added with a dash of hope).  Trusting that God has something amazing planned for me, and then having the patience to wait and see what that may be.  A job that will help others' lives, a husband, a family, etc?  I always add in my insignificant hope that God's plans are somewhat close to the plans I have for myself, selfish as that may be.

Every once in awhile, when I look back on my times of "waiting patiently," I can point out sporadic blessings... you know, basic life events.  Making new friends, experiencing new places, and making memories!  My patience with God's plans for me has been wonderful.  This is just my way of encouraging you to keep your chin up whenever you feel a bit desperate and tired of waiting for something to happen.  God knows what He's doing.  In the meantime, practice your "patience skills" and enjoy the wait...it will more than likely be worth it!
